1953 DoorMaster Garage Door

This door started out life as intended, but as some point in the 1970's it became a wall. In 2020 it became a door again, and a good looking one at that!

No current garage door tracks supported the small amount of headroom in this basement, so the decision was made to convert this door to a "California Style" swing up, one piece door. Here the opening is exposed for the first time in 30 years or so.

2x4 and 2x6 frame constructed, unifying the existing door.

SEVEN layers of paint stripped, even off the windows.

Dark walnut stain applied to the trim, antique white exterior paint being applied.

1974 Alcort - AMF Sunfish Sailboat

This 1974 Sunfish hull required extensive fiberglass repair to the bow and what seemed like several hundred small cracks repaired in the gelcoat, as well as new painted stripes and bowsprit. Heavy buffing brought a nice luster back to the mostly original gelcoat.

MCM Broyhill Brasilia Headboard

This king-size headboard was badly broken upon receiving. Not anymore!

Bedpost repaired. Screws were contersuck, surface sanded smooth, wood-filled and restrained.

1987 Jeep Comanche Headliner

Jeep Comanche pickups are rare, and certain parts for them are no exception. I took what was a busted headliner board, fiberglassed it back together, and recovered it. What I failed to capture was the meticulous work involved in getting the finished/presenting side smooth enough to accept the headliner fabric without showing imperfections.

Marking out every crack to be reinforced with fiberglass.

All cracks repaired, strength restored.

Quality headliner material installed. She's back in the truck and looking new!

Mid-Century Jalousie Door

This door is on my own house. It just looked awful after having been exposed to the elements for 62 years and neglected. The previous owner's St. Bernard had a field day with the lower portions. It's much more pleasant to walk into my porch now.
